About this course

Enter Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences through this programme with a large selection of choices in History, Sociology, Economics and Law, in addition to building fluency in French, German, Irish/ Gaeilge and Spanish as a language and culture through exploration of historical origins, economical, legal and societal aspects and political institutions.

Cooperative studies will encourage an exchange year abroad to develop language skills and work experience.

Entry Requirements

CAO Minimum Points Entry 2017: 370

Leaving Certificate (or an approved equivalent) with minimum 6 subjects

  • Two H5 grades
  • Four O6 (Ordinary Level) grades; OR
  • Four H7 (Higher Level) grades
  • minimum Grade H3 in French or German or Irish or Spanish

*Subjects must include Mathematics, Irish or another language, and English.

**Grade F6 for Foundation Mathematics also satisfies minimum entry requirements. Foundation Maths is not reckonable for scoring purposes.

Additonal language requirements: H4 grade in a language other than English
