Entry Requirements

- BTEC National Diploma grade MMP
- BTEC QCF Extended Diploma grade MMP
- Access to HE Diploma full award (Pass of 60 credits - of which a minimum of 45 credits must be at level 3 including 18 at Merit or Distinction).

Curriculum
Year 1 introduces you to key issues such as how Broadcasting and Journalism fits into our world today and the ethical and legal requirements of working as a broadcaster or journalist. You will also develop the practical writing and technical skills required to produce items for broadcast or publication.
Year 2 allows you to specialise in your primary area of interest; be that journalism, broadcasting or a theoretical engagement.
Year 3 requires you to produce a major piece of theoretical or practical work, alongside continued specialisation in your chosen area of interest - in broadcasting, journalism or, specifically, broadcast journalism.
The generic skills you will acquire – analysis, organisation, group working and the ability to handle and manage complex ideas and tasks – are applicable to many professions, and are increasingly valued by employers.
