City of Orillia

Located in Ontario's Lake Country, the City of Orillia features a vibrant community offering the best from the worlds of culture and recreation. With campus locations at University Avenue and in downtown Orillia, Lakehead University Orillia offers easy access to all the opportunities that the City and Simcoe County have to offer.

Outdoor enthusiasts will revel at the chance to be active while enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings of the region. A 9.5 km paved link of the Trans Canada Trail winds though the City connecting its parks, the Port of Orillia, and heritage sites. The home of Gordon Lightfoot and the renowned Mariposa Folk Festival, Orillia is a centre of creativity, with the Orillia Opera House, Orillia Museum of Art & History, the Stephen Leacock Museum and numerous arts and culture groups offering performances and activities year round.

No matter the season, no matter your interest, the City of Orillia offers you a wonderful environment to live and learn.

Thunder Bay Campus

Nestled under the shadow of the stoic Sleeping Giant, our Thunder Bay campus is among the most picturesque in the nation. Fieldwork and hands-on learning are integral to a high number of our programs, taking advantage of the vibrant, natural laboratories right in our backyard. Our northern landscape also presents ample opportunity for world-class outdoor sports and activities. Students here can opt to take a ski break or hiking trip between study sessions and maintain an ideal work-play balance with ease.

A professional education is likewise only a few steps away: students have easy access to the classrooms and facilities belonging to a wide array of professional options, including nursing, kinesiology, forestry, business, engineering, education, social work, law, and medicine.

Orillia campus

Lakehead University Orillia is situated in one of Central Ontario's most beautiful cottage country areas. The City of Orillia is positioned on the shores of Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe and offers year-round opportunities for recreation, culture and heritage.

Orillia Campus:

Located just one and a half hours drive north of Toronto, the 500 University Avenue campus is the first in North America to be entirely built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification standards. The original campus site, located at Heritage Place (downtown Orillia), continues to provide a learning environment for students with direct access to the historic downtown area.
